Any Motor Vehicle Information requests are subject to strict Alberta legislation governing its release. A driver abstract may be released to the driver or to a party having a valid purpose in legislation. A driver abstract features information such as name, address, date of birth, height, weight, sex, Motor Vehicle Identification Number, operator license number and issue date, expiration date, class, current demerit points, suspension status, reinstatement conditions, and list of any violations. You can request a 3, 5, or 10 year print out reports of your driver abstract through an Alberta registry agent. Alberta Transportation and Service Alberta created the Commercial Driver Abstract by request of the commercial carrier industry and adds information related to instances of Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance inspections to information from an individual’s driving record that is normally in the driver abstract. When requesting for a driver abstract at an Alberta registry, you must show acceptable photo id and complete the Request for Personal Driving and Motor Vehicle Information form.
