Death certificates are issued using information from the original registration of death that was completed at the time of death. You are able to order a certified large size certificate of death, photocopy of a registration of death, and a photocopy of a medical certificate of death. All Alberta Residents must apply in person to submit an application through a registry agent. Once the registry agent submits a request or Vital Statistics office receives an application it usually is processed within two to three business days assuming there is no additional information required.
